Rosebud Luxuries

*In the film „Citizen Kane“ the mighty, but lonely media magnate dies and utters the last word: “Rosebud.“ It is a sledge from his childhood, a memento from a time when his family had little money but when Kane was truly happy.

Rosebud luxuries stages different objects from personal belongings which on the one hand are of little monetarily value but yet on the other hand bear significant value in the owner’s life.
A bar of soap – inscribed with the owner’s name – is remeniscent of the ephemeral nature of luxury and posession.

Juxtaposing material to immaterial wealth, we are led to one of the fundamental questions of human existence: What do we need to be happy?
