Identifing with the wrong me
Consciousness transcends individual identity.
It’s the recognition that we’re part of something greater and not just our ego’s desires, fears, and self-interest.
The protective layer wrapped around our false idea of identity, our conditional idea of self-worth that needs to be defended, proved, protected and upheld, that is the part that creates all the problems and complications. The more we can recognize that we are consciousness, the less we need protection or affirmation of this artificial self image, leaving us room to be who we truly are.
Consciousness transcends individual identity.
