We are all giants
While we might identify ourselves with our small egos, there’s a giant within us.
THE SMALL EGO
Our ego is the conditioned sense of who we are. It includes our thoughts, feelings, and personal identity.
We often limit ourselves by identifying with this small ego, which is shaped by our upbringing, beliefs, roles, thoughts, feelings, perceptions, and achievements.
Why It’s Limiting:
The small ego can make us feel stuck, anxious, and inadequate because it’s based on fears and comparisons.
Our ego is the conditioned sense of who we are.
THE GIANT WITHIN
The “giant within” represents our true, deeper being. It’s our inner authority, creativity, and wisdom.
This giant is our “bigger self” that can guide us beyond our everyday limitations.
Tapping into this giant means recognizing our full capabilities and connecting with a sense of unity.
CONNECTING THE TWO
Awareness:
Start by becoming aware of both your small ego and the giant within. Practices like meditation and self-reflection can help you see beyond your limited self.
Integration:
Harmonize your ego with your inner giant. Use the ego to navigate daily life but let the giant’s wisdom guide your actions.
Expression:
Live from your inner giant by being compassionate, creative, and living a meaningful, sacred life. Respond to challenges with openness and trust rather than fear.
APPLICATION
Mindfulness:
Practice meditation (in action) and stay present in each moment to quiet the ego and connect with your inner being.
Self-Compassion:
Be kind to yourself when you notice the ego taking over. Gently remind yourself of who you truly are.
Inner Work:
Engage in transformational activities like therapy, retreats or reading inspirational books to connect more deeply with your inner being.
Meaningful Approach:
Align with your true values.
The "giant within" represents our true, deeper being.
Understanding that we are more than our small egos and that we have a giant within us is a journey of transformation. By practicing mindfulness, self-compassion, inner work, and meaningful approach, we can bridge the gap between our everyday self and our true potential, leading a more enriched and fulfilling life.
